Delete your fmRadio data

Use the steps below to permanently delete synchronized favorites, erase local app data, or request deletion of information sent directly to xType.

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Important

  • fmRadio does not create an fmRadio or xType user account.
  • Google Drive Favorite Sync is optional and stores only favorite-station data in fmRadio's private Drive application-data area.
  • Deleting cloud favorites does not delete the favorites stored locally on your device.
  • Never send xType your Google password, OAuth token, or other login credentials.

1. Delete synchronized favorites from Google Drive

This is the quickest way to delete the cloud data created by Favorite Sync:

  1. Open fmRadio.
  2. Open Options, then select Favorite Sync.
  3. If necessary, connect the same Google account that you previously used for synchronization.
  4. Select Delete cloud favorites.
  5. Confirm by selecting Delete from Drive.

This permanently deletes every fmRadio favorite-sync file found in the selected account's private Google Drive application-data area, revokes fmRadio's Drive authorization, and disconnects Favorite Sync. The favorite stations stored on that device remain available locally.

If you no longer have the app: sign in to Google Drive on the web, open Settings → Manage apps, find fmRadio, and use the option to delete its hidden app data. You can separately remove fmRadio's access from your Google Account's third-party connections page.

2. Delete data stored on your Android device

You can erase fmRadio's local favorites, preferences, synchronization details, cached station information, consent status, and other private app data by opening Android Settings → Apps → fmRadio → Storage and cache → Clear storage. Menu names can differ by device.

Uninstalling fmRadio also removes its app-private data. Recordings or other files that you exported, copied, or shared outside fmRadio's private storage are not removed automatically; delete those copies from their destination yourself. Clearing local storage or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete Favorite Sync data already stored in Google Drive.

3. Request deletion from xType

To request deletion of information that you sent directly to xType—for example, a support email and its attachments—email us using the button below.

Request fmRadio data deletion

In your message, identify the email address you used to contact support and describe the information you want deleted. Do not include passwords or Google authorization credentials. We may ask for enough information to verify that the request concerns you.

xType aims to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. Information may be retained longer only where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or a legal obligation. If an exception applies, we will explain the type of information retained and the applicable reason or period when legally permitted.

xType cannot use an email request to open or identify your private Google Drive favorite-sync file or data stored only on your device. Use sections 1 and 2 for that data.

4. What is deleted and what may remain

Data Deletion and retention
Google Drive favorite-sync data Deleted immediately when Delete cloud favorites completes. It contains favorite-station details and synchronization metadata. Local favorites remain.
Local fmRadio data Removed when you clear fmRadio storage or uninstall the app, subject to Android or backup-provider behavior. Exported or shared copies remain until you delete them separately.
Support messages sent to xType Deleted within 30 days after a verified request unless a security, dispute, or legal requirement requires limited retention.
Advertising and third-party service data Google, radio stations, directory providers, hosting providers, and device services control their own records and retention. Use their privacy and account controls to make requests concerning data they control.

5. Related privacy controls

  • Google Drive settings for hidden application data.
  • Google Account third-party connections for removing fmRadio's authorization.
  • Google data and privacy controls for information controlled by Google.
  • fmRadio Privacy Policy for complete information about data handling and third-party services.
